Audio Systems: Bose Stereo as Audio for TV, alarm clock radio, rca input

Question
Robert,
I am having trouble hooking my Bose Wave 1 stereo as the audio for my Panasonic flat creen TV.
How do I get the audio signal through the speaker?
Thanks,
Fred

Answer
Unfortunately the Wave radio does not do audio and video switching, so the only way to get an audio feed from the TV is to take the audio out of the TV (RCA jack) and plug it into the AUX input of the Wave Radio (RCA input jack), thus controlling it from the TV remote control (no guarantee that you can control volume unless you do it from the Wave radio). You'll forgive me but I don't remember having seen any inputs on the Wave radio but then again I may not have seen a newer model. It may sound simple but it can be very complicated because this is an unorthodox use of an alarm clock radio and it's not just because of the radio. The tv is really made to be used with internal speakers or some sort of an A/V receiver.

Incidentally Bose makes a few very nice surround sound systems that would work very nicely with your TV.
