Audio Systems: Car stereo, fuse box, car stereo

My stereo has had a problem for the past few months now, it will randomly just shut off and to turn it back on you have to slam one of the doors but that doesn't always work. I was wondering what the problem might be and how i could fix that?

Most likely the wiring to the back of the radio is loose. If it is a dodge product, the ground strap / wire may have come loose. Other causes can be damaged fuse box, failing ignition switch, and damaged removable faceplate. If you provide more details about the car and stereo I could get more detailed, but these causes are pretty easy to check. Get the stereo out of the dash first and check the wiring first.
