QuestionQUESTION: Hey, i had a freind that tried taking out my stock stereo out of a 97 saturn sl2.before he had done this the car had run just fine.but he didnt relize the theft system. (trying to hard wire) and now the car wont start. the car has all battery power but when i turn it from run to ignition nothing happens. the car doesnt even try to turn over. can youy help me out ?
ANSWER: I could send you a reply saying that it's not my expertise and I would not be wrong. Whatever manufacter car you have and whatever you had put into it must have cost a fair amount of money. Hopefully it was done by professionals (experts in their field). You should probably have thought of that before you let an amatuer perform electical work on the car. If the car was manufactured after the year 2000, then as it becomes more current, the on board computer system gets more complex in order to make driving easier and safer. Now back up and think about what you might have done to complicate things by installing an electronic system without knowing the logic of the car electronics. Simply said you probably need to go back to an expert to fix it. For your sake I hope you don't take a bath.

I was mistaken giving you that advise before. Now that I know you better, I would advise you to buy a bicycle and an iPod. Just make sure that when your smoking those funny cigarettes you, don't drive into a truck.

AnswerBut an iPod won't start your car. Borrow a continuity tester. Unless your fuses are marked check them all. It sounds to me though like it's your mains (meaning your battery contacts failed or your battery died because something your friend did drained it). Mind you I'm not a car mechanic so it's an educated guess.
