Audio Systems: dvd /vcr with external speakers, dvd vhs player, rca output

Question
I have recently bought a vcr/dvd with the red and white RCA output cables.  can someone suggest what kind of speakers can be attached to it for audio. I am using my tv for the video output(the tv has a prob transmiting the audio signal for the dvd/vcr)

Answer
A DVD/VHS player is a transport only, not an amplifier. You will need an amplifier/preamplifier or receiver to connect to speakers  The DVD/VCR will connecct to the receiver input.

TV's don't transmit. TV stations do. You need to connect the video from your TV, satelite or cable box to your receiver or pre-amp by use of one of the following: RF video which carries both audio and video (coaxial cable) or video and audio cable, called composite video or component video (RGB-VGA) and audio or S Video and audio or HDMI.
