Audio Systems: Getting some Disco in the Disco 1, aa battery, test light

I have a 1996 Land Rover Disco and want to change the factor stereo with my kenwood.  I pulled out the stereo but am having difficulty figuring out what wires go to what?  I do not have the money to get it professionally installed and have installed a car stereo before.  I am confident I can do this with a little instructions.  Please help.

Buy the install harness for a VW and it will plug right in. I used to own that exact model and year, and did a huge upgrade system, so I know all about it. You will also need the antenna adapter for a VW antenna. Your cluster "remote" volume controls will stop working unless you add another interface box, but after doing it, I wouldn't bother.
You may want to double check all the wires for function with a test light and a 1.5 volt AA battery, just to be sure.
The plug is a perfect fit, but the colors may be swapped around a bit...
The rear door "subs" have thier own amp back there, so make sure to hook up the turn on wire too.
