Audio Systems: dodge intrepid noise in speakers, rca cables, infinity system

Question
i installed a new head unit in my 94 dodge intrepid which had the infinity system. i hooked up the blue remote wire and it worked fine. when i hooked up my amp, however, all i get is noise through my subs no matter where i ground it. i hooked the amp's remote wire in with the receiver's remote and the blue remote in the harness that turns on the factory amp. what am i doing wrong?

Answer
The grounding point is the cause of most ground loops. Try connecting it to a different ground spot as a test. Cars have all kinds of places to ground, but most will not be well connected to the battery ground. Factory ground lugs are a good place to test. also, your RCA cables should run down the opposite side of the car from any power wires or factory wire looms if possible. Your blue wire is fine, it just turns on the amp, and has no noise issues.
