Audio Systems: cd player, dodge ram 1500, electric antenna

Question
I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Extended cab and I am trying to install a cd player in it. It is a Pioneer DEH-P440 cd player. I bought the wiring harness and a dash kit. All the wires for the speakers match up and are color coded so I connected those already. I am a little confused with some other wires. I also connected the red 12 volt ignition/acc and the yellow 12volt Batt/memory wires because the colors matched up as well.

I do not know what to do or connect to following wires coming from the new harness:

Blue "Power Antenna" wire
Brown "mute" wire
Orange/white "positive dinner" wire
Orange "illumination" wire

And the wires already coming from the cd player:

Black
light orange/white
blue/white stripe

Just not sure how to connect them. Also there is a wire coming from the dash that looks to be a Ground wire that was seperate with a connecter that attached to the back of the factory unit. Its black.

Sorry this is somewhat lengthy but I tried to be descriptive as possible.

Thanks for your help!

Answer
This is a good place to check out the wiring.

However, not all wires are used in all cases and wire colors often change - for now apparent reason.  So, you must know from the Pioneer unit what wires are needed to connect - from studying the manual that comes with it. Then match the function and operational aspects to the wiring as indicated by the diagrams.

Power antenna wire is if you DO have an electric antenna. If not, tape that wire over so the end of it will not cause shorts.

Mute wire is to "mute" the amplifier when talking on the phone, for example.  If the Pioneer does not have the mute function, tape it over too.

The illumination wire is to feed voltage to the lighting of the display - it is nearly always used for OEM units and not for aftermarket radios which have their own internal display system.

I have not idea what the dinner wire is about.   Sorry.

Hope this helps.
