Audio Systems: cd changer compatibility, steve sorensen, fancy photos

Question
'97 Trans Am w/single play cd.
What models of Pontiac Monsoon radio are/are not compatible w/trunk mounted changer. Had radio out, remote cable is connected to radio..brand new Delco changer shuffles c/d's but head unit will not recognize changer.
Friends say some are..some are not.???
Please help.

I don't know the answer, but I am guessing there is a missing connection between the head and the changer.

you may find some useful wiring information to help you figure it out.

Unfortunately, there are incompatibilities all over the auto industry - even among cars of the same make and model.  So, one must be prepared to track down the wiring and make adjustments as may be needed.  Only about 80% to 90% of the time do things go according to fancy photos and wiring charts that are published.
