Audio Systems: alpine ipod aux cable, ipod aux cable, fm modulator

I bought a ipod cable today and got it installed. The radio is picking the ipod up but the ipod isnt pickin the radio up. The radio just says searching.

Why would you want the ipod to pick up the radio? Is the cable you bought an FM modulator power adapter? If the radio won't find the FM modulator, try a different channel on the FM modulator. You may have a very strong FM station interfering with the channel you are trying now.
If the cable is a direct connection, what kind of car? What kind of stereo? What brand of aux. cable?
