Audio Systems: center speaker, pioneer receivers, pioneer receiver

Question
I have a Pioneer receiver and my issue is that the center speaker only works with the dvd player. When I switch to a CD setting, the center speaker does not work.

Do you have the owners manual?  If not, you can download it from the pioneerelectronics.com web site.

Check the operations with the manual.

Most surround receivers have functional settings to connect it as you desire.  Maybe yours must be set for 5.1 sound reproduction.

If you don't get it figured out, send me the model number and I will tell you what the deal is with your model.

Some of the newer pioneer receivers have automatic detection of the signal being listened to and set it accordingly. If it is a cd bine played it will play back in two channel stereo only unless you override the settings manually.
