i own a 1993 infiniti j30 with a broken stereo. i know that the headunit is the problem because i have purchased the exact same headunit on ebay and it worked fine execpt for the cd player was not working and since cds are what i wanted to listen to, i retured it. i was wondering if there is any headunit besides the same model that i have that would be an easy swap. i dont want to have to buy any amplifiers or anything.

Is your car BOSE equipped? If so, an after market stereo is a little more complicated, but not too much more.
many complanies like Scosche, PIE, and Peripheral make excellent converters to use with Bose systems.

Have you considered just buying an ipod and a cig. power cord with FM transmit function? Cheap way to avoid bothering fixing it at all...
