QUESTION: o.k. i just went to the local junk yard and got the plug from a 2001 ford f-150 that had a cd changer in the center console. i tried to connect them but some of the wires match and on one side i was left with 3 green wires and the other side 1 green and 1 black. i have a 2003 ford expedition with a navigation system and a cd changer int he center console. i plugged the changer to it and it worked. so do i have to get the plug exactly from a 2003 vehicle.

QUESTION: ok i know what you mean but when i got the stereo and cd changer the wire i got goes from the changer all the way to the kick panel on the right side. then from there it goes under the dash i dont know if it ends up in the stereo or somewhere else. what i did was that i just got the plug from the junk yard from the back of the radio. i figuered since i have a lot of wire from the changer i could just tape them together. like i said when i did that i had miss match wires at the end. so do i have to get the wires from a 2003 model? because it worked in my expedition and it has a navigation system.
sorry for the confusion
