Audio Systems: auci audio system, market radio, cd multichanger

Dunno if you can help,i have an audi a4 year 2000,when i press the mode button on my radio the whole thing locks up until i turn it off and on again.i have a cd multichanger but i cant use it because of this problem.I know the problem is not with the multichanger as i have disconnected it and this still happened.Any advice would be very welcome,thankyou.

most likely the faceplate circut board is damaged. This can happen just from normal use. The processor gets inputs from too many sources at once, and locks up. I don't know if it's worth fixing a deck that is now 7 years old. you could either find an exact match on e-bay (risky) or swap out the whole system for a new after market radio. Perhaps one with an mp3 input, instead of a changer?
