Audio Systems: No sound from speakers, dodge avenger, 1998 dodge avenger

I bought a 1998 Dodge Avenger ES. The radio has power to it, but none of the speakers has any sound wha so ever. I check the fuse. It does have a factory infinity amp in the truck. It looks as if someone put new speakers in the rear . any idea's?

sometimes those infinity amps blow.  also if the cd player is aftermarket (not the original infinity) it will have to be hooked up right to trigger that infinity amp to turn on.
I would start by turning the system on and putting your ear RIGHT on the speakers, preferably the tweeters if there are separate ones.  if you hear a hiss noise then your infinity amp is probably on and possibly working so that's a good start.
after that you may want to pull the radio from the dash, there's a clip or ring terminal on the back that triggers the infinity to turn on so make sure that's connected.  if you can get a AA battery across any of the speaker wires try that trick and see if it makes clicks in the speakers, you'll have to have the unit on for that to work since the infinity amp will have to be on,  that might be tricky,  be careful not to put the AA battery across any power wires!  You can also try putting the AA battery across the speakers in the rear if they are easily accessible through the trunk or by other means.  again, they should make a click when you do that, this indicates the speakers themselves are fine and the problem is elsewhere.
that will give you a good start at troubleshooting.  try that stuff first and let me know how it goes, we'll work from there.
