Audio Systems: Power wire, 1999 mercury cougar, mercury cougar

I am running a 8 gauge power wire for an amp in a 1999 Mercury Cougar.  I can't seem to find anywhere to put the wire through the firewall.  I wanted to know if you knew of a specific place to run the wire in the cougar because everything is so tight?

unfortunately I don't know about the cougar.  what I usually do is locate the car battery under the hood and trace where its main positive wires go.  usually there are 2, one goes to the alternator and one goes to the fuse block.  once you found the fuseblock, it will have lots of smaller wires that run through the firewall and if you're lucky you can just run them in there.  there's sometimes a rubber plug that you can just pop a hole into and feed your wire in, etc.
Good luck!  I know some cars just don't have this accessible and its very difficult. well, it's easy to drill a hole, but it's also easy to hit something in there. so be careful.
