Audio Systems: Amp problem, watts rms, rca cables

Question
I have a lightning audio amp hooked up to 2 12-inch subwoofers (about 950 watts rms) . It has worked fine until today, when it just stopped working. I checked the wires, fuses, connections, battery. It just wont turn on. I know there is power moving through it because when i reattach the power wires i can hear some slight impulses in the rest of my stock speakers.

Answer
You need to find out if the signal is reaching the amp. Plugging in a small amplified PC speaker is one cheap way. Just connect your RCA cables to an adapter, and see if you can get sound out of the PC speakers. If so, them move on to having the amp bench tested at a car audio shop.
