Audio Systems: car audio, mono amp, power acoustik

Question
QUESTION: i have a ma audio 1800watt mono blocked amp with a small power acoustik sub crossover pusing 2 lanzar opti drive subs 2200 watts a piece  my crossover is giving engine noise what can i do to stop it
ANSWER: the amp should have a crossover built in so just get rid of the power acoustik one, there's no point in having 2 for the most part.
if there is a reason you need 2 that you know of, please explain, or if your amp doesn't have a crossover tell me.
I looked up an MA audio 1800 watt mono amp and this is what I found:

if this is what you have, then there's already a crossover built in.

QUESTION: well to me the subs hit  harder with the crossover  i asked at least 5 people if that amp would do what i wanted before i bought it and everybody said yes  these were all installers  the only thing i can think of is they maybe hooked up wrong

Answer
the crossover cant make it hit harder, if it seems louder with the crossover in, it's only because the crossover is adding extra gain.  to simulate that, just turn the gain knob up on the amplifier a little.  then you can take that crossover out.
try it!
