Audio Systems: PIE, chevy lumina, 1997 chevy lumina

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1997 chevy lumina with an AM/FM/CD stereo.  Made by Delco electronics model number 16210141.  I purchased the PIE GM9-AUX adapter and plugged it into the auxiliary input port on my radio.  When i press the CD/AUX button on my radio nothing happens.  Is there some trick to making this work?
ANSWER: the 1997 to 1999 have the 9 pin plug in the back of the radio but don't have cd changer controls or aux controls

plug ,board ,and swith at front are there but no software on radio  if you get a tape player same radio they all have the software  this happend only on the cd player

QUESTION: Is there any way to flash the unit with new software?  I assume there are no after market programmers for this.

Also is there anyway to trick the radio into playing audio inputs from the 9pin plug?  If I can buy an after market tape deck for this, surely there's a way to feed in audio.

thank you

Answer
you can try the factory tape deck it comes with a 9 pin it is posible that it will work  not  100 % sure of that  some radios have the tape software  i seen them on ebay for like $10.00
and you will need to change the gm9 for the x3 gm3  3 auxiliary inputs
