Audio Systems: Extra battery??, chrysler lhs, watt amps

Question
My car is a chrysler Lhs 94, 4 door, and i have 2 sony xplodes (12 inch 1200 watt peak power) with a jvc amp now, and yeah i mean its ok, but what i really want is to buy 2 sony xplodes 1200 watt amps and hook up one of the amps i bought to one sub and the same with the other! but i know this is alot of power, so i would need another battery, how would u secure the battery in my trunk? and is it safe? and i would need capacitators wouldn't I? or would i cause i have another battery, or would it work if i bought the battery with the most power in the store? I mean i love power so much power! Power is nice!! hahaha thanks!!!

Answer
hmm...  well.... first off you've got 2 12s and 2 12s can only do so much. a bigger amp will push'm harder within limits. but you'd be better off sticking to 1 larger amp instead of 2 amps (one for each sub).
the rear battery is nice, I have them in all of my vehicles.  I LOVE POWER TOO!!! they are definitly not too safe especially when getting your car serviced though.  Allot of mechanics don't listen to a word you say.  funny story about that - I had a remote start in my stick car and I told them NOT to park it in gear, that they MUST use the E-brake and leave it in neutral.  and guess what?  they didn't, they accidently hit the button and the car drove off and hit another car!  true story!
ok, back to your stuff, there's also allot of complication that a 2nd battery adds.  the 2 batteries really need to be brand new and maintained properly or they will drain eachother.  since the 2 batteries are connected to eachother they try to charge eachother and end up dead over time.  this happens very quickly if one of the batteries is a little older than the other.  some people put in isolators to keep that from happening.  I've had trouble with isolators too, they don't always work etc.  it can be a bit of a mess.

in all actuality I don't think you need a rear battery for 2 12s. especially if you get a class D amp since they are almost twice as efficient as class A/B amps.
and even though these subs are rated for 1200 watts each that's peak power, you really should go by RMS power when matching up an amp to a sub, peak power can be misleading.  so these subs are rated for 350 watts rms each.  so all you need is a 700 watt amp.
you definitely don't need a rear battery for 700 watts.

I think this amp would be great for pushing these about as far as you'd want to go:

its rated for 900 watts into a mono 2 ohm load which if you wire your subs in parallel is what you'd get.  even though the 900 rating is higher than the sub's 700 rating it will be fine.

let me know what you think.
look forward to hearing back from you.
