Audio Systems: is the HF Goliath xx3212 a good buy for a competition?, car acoustics, power amps

hi, i have a  HF Goliath xx3212, 3600 RMS, is that a good sub woofer for a competition? any info on the Goliath 3212 would be helpful, thanks.

I don't have personal experience with the HiFonics, but as with most other subwoofers and low frequency radiators so much depends on the box they are mounted in.  Proper design of the box for the vehicle they are to be installed in is super important. The acoustic loading is an extremely critical matter to get the most pumping out of them.

Therefore,  I say "yes" to your question and qualify it with a requirement they be loaded into the correctly designed box.

PS: I once designed a system using an 8 inch jbl general purpose driver.  It was driven with only a 25 w amp. The sound was so sensational that everyone listening to it could not believe it could sound so good, even compared with big dual 15s and high power amps.  All because the box and car acoustics were very carefully balanced for each other.
