Audio Systems: cd player, rca cables, two subs

Question
i got a dodge and i put a cd player with two subs and an amp. i get audio out of the subs and not the door speakers with a cd in, however when i turn on the radio i get audio out of the subs and teh door speakers. whats wrong?

Answer
The sub amps are getting audio from the output of the cd player via rca cables. Is that right?

Is the cd player separate from  the radio head unit? Or are they a single dash mounted package?

If they are separates, you must check the cables and make sure you are connected to the radio output, also.

If single unit with radio and cd player all in one you must check the settings to make sure audio is going to the sub outputs AND the main channel outputs.

And, of course, it is possible the main unit is defective.  But, I rather suspect there is a setup that needs to be altered.

If you need more help, send me the make and model number of the cd player and your dodge year/model so I can give you specific advice.  Thanks.
