Questioni have a 2000 blazer with the upgrade bose system. What differences will there be if i want to add a headunit and subs to the car? will the the stock sytem work or will it have to be modified?
Answerthe short and sweet answer to this is, if it aint broke, don't fix it!
bose systems usually have strange ohm values for the speakers, hidden amplifiers in the car, weird cd players, etc. if you change 1 thing, you pretty much have to change it all! new cd player means bypassing the factory amp which means finding the wires or running all new ones to all the door speakers and means chaning all door speakers too!!! YUCK!!
these systems are prone to failure so as funny as it may sound, you may just want to wait for the inevitable when it fails and then decide wether to rip the WHOLE thing out and start over or not.
Probably not what you wanted to hear but that's pretty much the hard facts there.
