Answer
Pretty skimpy information you gave me to work with.  I am guessing you need to pull the Pioneer out and rewire the entire installation.  That is what I would recommend.

The above is for newer VWs, but it may be worth looking at to see if it about the same for your car.

The above may be useful if you need installation guidance and wiring adaptor.

In the worst case you will need to purchase a VOM (Walmart electrical section for $9.83) and trace out all the speaker wires and make sure you know exactly where each wire is going.  Then, with the wiring guide from the Pioneer owners manual make sure the speakers are wired correctly.

The power wire comes from the battery and the remote start wire from the ignition.

If this is not understandable to you, a tutorial in car electronics and radio installation will be necessary.  There are several places where you can learn the basics on the net.  Just google for car radio installation guides.

Good luck,

MORE:
If you don't get the unit working you must determine if the unit is bad (which often happens when it is wired incorrectly and ends up with faulty loading or shorts on the output) or if the wiring is incorrect.

For systems that don't work at all and you have wired it the best you know how my recommendation is as follows:

ONE: Pull the unit out and bench test it to verify the unit is still working.  To bench test you must remove it from the dash and disconnect all wiring.  Using a spare battery or long leads from your car battery, power the unit up and connect only one known good stand-alone speaker to each amp output one by one.  Using the cd player or any music signal verify the unit works outside the car.

TWO:  Knowing the wiring output guide of the Pioneer unit (you should have the installation or owners manual, if not you can download it from Pioneer web pages) you can determine the speaker outputs and power connections the unit needs.

THREE: Either trace or verify the wiring in the car, now knowing the Pioneer outputs.  Make sure you know which wire pairs go to each speaker and test them to verify they are good and have no shorts to ground or a shorted speaker using the ohmmeter function in the VOM.

Then, you are ready to re-install the unit with verified connections.

I know it is not simple, but there is no shortcut in cases such as yours where there is confusion as to which way the wiring goes.  Volkswagens are no fun and require dedicated attention and knowledge when installing.  If you go to a shop for this kind of work it will be done by experts who have long experience and education training for such work.

Good Luck,
