Audio Systems: Amp trouble, amp load, impedance load

Question
My JL 500/1 amp which is running 2x10w3v2's was working fine, but then shut down after what I think was overheating. So now whenever I run it, it turns on and off when I turn the subs up. It runs fine at low volume, but I'd like to be able to get what I paid for. Thanks for listening.

Answer
Amp is a class D monoblock.  It is a great amp.

ONE: Have you reset it?  By totally removing power for a few minutes.  This will discharge all internal voltages and reset the protection system. (you must remove both battery power and remote power wires from the amp for 30 minutes.)

TWO:  Which model woofers are you using?  D2, D4 or D6?  If one of them has failed and the impedance load has gone too high the amp will sense it.  The amp load is rated for 1.5 to 4 ohms.
