Audio Systems: kenwood stereo, music data, kenwood kdc

i have a kenwood kdc excelon x-890 car reciever and i cant figure out how to work the usb. everytime i plug in my flash drive it says no music data.but on my music site it says the music is on it!!please help

I bet it has to do with the format of the files. When I was trying to copy music onto my kids' phones or PSPs, they would only "see" MP3 files, not WMA (windows media) or AAC (itunes) files. Try using straight up MP3 files instead, and check your owner's manual to see if they have to located in a folder named "music" or something
