The speakers are MA audio MA121XQ.  it says single 4 ohm voice coil in the manual but it also says they are dual voice coil.  I am planning on running multiple amps unless you think different but i am going for the most bang for my buck.  the amps i have looked at are Pyle Chopper series model PLA2220 2400 watt amps and i also have 2 and 3 farad Caps also that i plan to use.  I hope this is enough info for you. let me know what you think.  Eric

I am installing 3 12" DVC subwoofers.  I know that it can be complicated to do when dealing with getting the ohms correct.  The RMS wattage is 300w and 600w max.  What I need to know is the best amp size to get how many and the best way to wire the subs to get the best sound.  If you need more information about the subs or the enclosure let me know.  Thank you Eric

well, yes, it can be complicated but unfortunatly I cant answer this without knowing the ohms of the speakers.  you've told me you have 3 subs that are dual coils each. which is a total of 6 coils but I need to know what ohms each coil is or I cant answer this.  if you could tell me the EXACT make and model of the subs that may go a long way to helping you.  or if you just know that they are dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm or whatever that will do. then I'll be happy to recomend an amp.  once you tell me the ohms, do you have have a brand prefrence or do you want me to recomend a "bang-for-the-buck" type amp?

thanks

the manual may be written for either sub.  its easy to tell which ones you have though.  a single coil sub will have one set of connectors (one posative and one negative)  a dual coil sub will have 2 sets on the sub (2 posatives and 2 negatives) usually located on 2 separate terminal blocks, one on each side of the sub.
I always wanted to hear these subs cuz they look pretty beefy for the price.
the pyle amps are incredibly crappy. you get what you pay for for the most part.  the only company I've found that make truely good bang for the buck stuff is power acoustik.
look at these subs and tell me wether they have 1 or 2 sets of termainals.  that will tell us everything. then I'll pick some amps for you and we'll work from there.

Answer
ok, so if you look at this diagram here you can see how to wire 3 dual voice coil subs that have 4 ohms per coil:

to run 3 subs you need an amp that puts out 900 watts RMS at 2.67 ohms.  most amps are rated at 2 ohms so if you find an amp that puts out about 1100 watts into 2 ohms then it should put out just about 900 into 2.67.  this amp here would be perfect:

a single 3 farad cap should be plenty for this amp and these subs. make sure you use good 4 gauge wire and do your ground right and you'll be fine!
