Audio Systems: wiring speakers in a finished basement, wiring speakers, time dave

Question
Greetings,
I am wanting to run speaker and subwoofer wire to different locations in my finished basement but it looks as though am going to have to run it under the carpeting.  Any good advise on how to fish it underneath and then come up through the carpet and make it look nice without big holes in the carpeting?  Do you know what pro installers use in this scenario?  I assume this situation is common.   Thanks for your valuable time!   Dave

Answer
No easy way!  However, if the carpet is under a baseboard you can usually stuff wires underneath the baseboard and in-between the carpet. If it is too tight you can sometimes pull the baseboard off the wall, lay the wires down and then reinstall the baseboard.

For fishing under the carpet, a flat fishwire like the electricians use will often do it; pull a string or small wire through first, then tie that to the wires and pull them through second.

Hope this helps.
