Audio Systems: Head Unit for 95 S-10 Blazer, private option, headunits

Question
I am looking for a replacement for the defunct stock Delco in my 1995 Chevy S-10 Blazer (4dr).  Can you recommend a head unit that will fit the din and a half opening?  I was looking at the Audiovox ACD75, but I'm afraid it will not fit what looks like a shallow opening. I also plan to hook this up to an amp and 2 12" subs.  Thanks.

Answer
Rob,

My best advice for a headunit would be www.crutchfield.com
I would not worry about the fit except for depth mounting tolerances.
You can get an install kit so it fits the stock hole and a wiring harness adaptor so you will not need to cut the factory wires. You can get both of them for about 20.00 USD and it is well spent, in my opinion. They are top notch, fair priced outfitters for factory replacements and will pay special attention to be sure you have everything you need the very 1st time. Their customer service is world renowned.

I am not sure what your needs are function-wise, but I would look into the Clarion headunits, for sure.

If you could give me some specifics about your budget, what you need (CD , MP3, CD-r, sattelite, Aux inputs,  ect) and post it to me using the 'private' option, I would be happy to elaborate and advise you further.

Good luck and have fun!

Sincerely,
Jerry Mael
