QuestionWhat and where is in my 2007 dodge ram 2500 larimy quad cab? i know it's got a 7 speaker infinity system and amp. but where is the amp what is the watts, how many canals, is the output adjustable? what will the speakers take?
AnswerI will tell you what I do know.
The amp is usually under the seat for Infinitys..
It is likely 4 channel.
Output level is not user adjustable at the amp. The amp gain is tuned properly to the headunits' output so that it has 'unity' gain. This is the setting that gives you 100% of the RMS power it is rated at and therfore, there is no need for an amp adjustment as long as it is hooked to the factory headunit.
The speakers are matched to accept this output level of wattage.
It is not a lot of power. I am guessing maby 40 wpc at best.
If you are wanting to put in a larger amp (which is the only way to make it louder without adding more speakers), you will probably want to replace the speakers.
