Audio Systems: power antenna, 1989 cutlass ciera, inner fender

I have a 1989 cutlass ciera. today when i shut it off, the power antenna kept running, but wouldnt go down. i had to unplug the negative side of the battery to get it to stop. Is it hard to replace? can i shut it off without unhooking the baqttery

The motor has to be split by drilling out the rivets on those. Better to just power it on, run the antenna up, and unplug the harness from the motor. You usually have to unscrew the inner fender to do it. Those were in the front fender if I remember correctly. If it is on the rear fender, you are even better off, it is even easier to unplug the harness.
