Audio Systems: no sound in front left speaker, others are fine., honda civic ex coupe, 4 ohms

Question
I have a 1997 honda civic ex coupe and it's been working fine. Except for the fact that the front driver side speaker and the small factory tweeter is out.  The front passenger side and the back two speakers work fine. There is no static, or even intermetient sound coming thru the driver's side speaker or tweeter.  The sound system is all factory, except for a 5-CD alpine cd changer (i got it when I purchased the car), cause the factory unit doesn't have a CD slot.  I popped off the speaker and it didn't appear to be damaged or broken, but I'm not an expert by anymeans. Could you help me with some basic troubleshooting tips or suggestions to get my front speaker working again?

Answer
Sounds like a fault in the cable from radio to drivers side speaker,
check by popping of the speaker connector from the radio and checking for 4 ohms on the pair for that speaker or failing that use an AA or AAA battery borrowed from the TV remote to test across the two wires, you should hear a crackle from the speaker, if not check at the speaker, if it works you have a fault in the line if not you have a duff speaker
