Audio Systems: Dodge Infinity Amp - remove or not?, factory amps, infinity system

99 dodge dakota with infinity system.  Verified amp is under passenger kick panel and not on the speakers.  Installing aftermarket DVD/CD player.  Do I need to bypass the infinity amp since the new head unit has 40 watts/channel.  Heard infinity decks only put out a very small wattage and worried that amplifying this decks signal might blow my speakers.

 if you want to still use your factory amps you will need an integration harness to chop the voltage from your head unit down so it dont burn your amps ... but you can just cut the amp out all together run your wires for your speakers and be done with it
