i'm planning in getting my husband a audio system into his ford taurus 98 b/c he only has that cassette player in it and i wanted to surprise him for christmas and i do not know which one to get and where. He wants a cd player that plays mp3 player and i'm planning on getting him a dvd to because on his line of work he has like 1 hr. break so he can watch movies till his next shift. thanks.

I would definatly go to www.crutchfield.com you can fill out "find what fits my car" and it will show you all the models that are gaurnteed to fit.  also if you purchase from them, they will give you the dash kit, wiring, step by step instructions specific for your vehicle, and even tools if nessesary, all for free!
