Audio Systems: Factory Infinity Speaker does not fit in new In dash, infinity speaker, infinity system

Question
Hi,

I bought a new In dash Receiver (Phase Linear CD/MP3/WMA Player (UMP301)

When I am trying to install it in my Mitsubishi Galant 2000, which already had a 7 speaker infinity system, I am unable to connect the factory infinity speaker wiring to new receiver. The problem is that there is only one wire from the factory speaker system and new receiver has one wire designated for one side of the speaker.

How do I connect my factory infinity speaker to new in dash receiver.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Abhishek,  I knew an Abhishek, he worked at a technology company I use in NJ.  woudlnt be the same guy would it?

anyway,  I'm trying to figure out exactly what you're explaining.  it sounds like you're saying that the infinity system only has 1 wire per speaker, like there is a common ground or something.  I doubt very highly that they would do this.  You also say the reciever has one wire for one side of the speaker.  I think you mean there are 2 wires for each speaker as this is standard on the reciever.
Most infinity systems like this have an amplifier in the car that you'll have to deal with as well.

First off I highly sugest getting this wiring harness for your car, if you dont already have one:

Get the harness and it should tell you what wire is what.  there may also be a wire with a "clip" that was on the back of the radio.  if so this is nessesary to hook up to get the amplifier to turn on.  Let me know if this clip was there, I'll try to get it to work for you.
