Audio Systems: Car Audio, volt bulb, radio earth

Question
Hey, I have a 99 Dodge Ram pickup and my car radio won't turn on no matter what.  It seems like there is no power to it at all cause the clock won't even turn on.  I checked the fuse and it was all right.  What else could be the problem

Answer
Hi Nate.
Take one good radio, earth it, provide power to BOTH power leads (poss and acc) and it WILL work, unless it's cooked! problem is there are TWO fuses.
So armed with a 12 volt test probe, meter or a 12 Volt bulb on a wire, check the back of the radio at the connector for a live when ignition is OFF. got it? Good that's one out of the way, if not, there's your problem.

Next turn on the ignition and repeat the test omitting the wire before and find another 12v live, that's the Acc feed, Ok? If not, well, you got it, there's your problem.

Check back of radio for a 10Amp mini fuse (if it has one, varies from model to model).O.K?

If all is OK at this stage and the earth is good then it should work, if not it's knackerd (tech term).
