Audio Systems: System configuration, chevrolet avalanche, gauge wire

Question
I have a Chevrolet Avalanche.  I currently have 3 15" DVC subwoofers that have their woofers facing inside a sealed box.  I am running 4 gauge power wire for a JL 500/1 but I wanted to upgrade to 0/1 gauge wire.  The reason for the upgrade is that I'm going to put a JL 1000/1 ON THE 15's now.  I was wondering if this was a good idea and what is the best setup for my subs.  I was thing about turning them around in the box and face them towards the back seat.  What do you think?

Answer
typically facing them to the rear of the vehicle will provide a little more feel of the bass with a little less loudness of the bass.  if you face them around, into the seats you'll probably hear it more and feel it less.
DEFINATLY shouldn't be running 3 15s off a wimpy 4 guage line unless you have a rear battery.  I have 4 12s and a rear battery and 4 guage does pretty well,  I only have about .5 volt drop from front to rear when I'm cranking it.  I think if you really want to run those 15s to their potential you really should have a rear battery anyway.  I love the big yellow batteries Walmart carries for $60  they have a 3 year warenty and they NEVER check them so jut bring it back every 2 years for a free new battery wether it needs it or not!
The JL 1000/1 only accepts 4 guage from what I've read so you'll have to hit a distribuition box with a little 4 gauge tail coming off to go into the amp but as long as it's very short and your 0 gauge is the majority of the wire, all the way to the front battery you'll be ok.  Again, though you may want to try the rear battery first and you may find you dont need to change the wire. the relationship becomes that the battery in the rear runs the amp and the 4 gauge wire just has to keep a charge on it instead of the wire carying the load of the amplifier.
Ideally you have a capacitor too, so then the capacitor runs the amp, the rear battery keep the capacitor charged, and the 4 gauge wire keep the rear battery charged. 0 gauge still wont hurt anything, it just may be slightly unnessesary money spent.

let me know if I can be of any more help.
