Audio Systems: amp/sub ohm matching, watts rms, peak power output

Question
hey hows it going, i recently bought a   Cerwin VegaV-MAX10DVC
10" 600w dual 2-ohm subwoofer, and paired it with a   Audiobahn DUB4001
800w monoblock car amplifier(really only 400w)# 1-Channel Class-A/B Amplifier
# RMS Power (4 ohms): 400 watts x 1 chan.
# Peak Power Output: 800 watts approx., i was wondering if the woofer is going to burn up the amp pulling too much current or if this setup will work fine, let me know what you think.
Thanks

Answer
well the vega is dual 2 ohms which wired in series will be a single 4 ohm load.  this is what the audiobahn is designed to run so in that regard it will be fine.
the only way the sub could hurt the amp is if you wired the 2 coils in parallel, this would give the amp a 1 ohm load which is much more work for it to do than its desgined for, so yes that could blow the amp.
The only problem you may have is that the vega is rated for 200 watts RMS and the amp is rated for 400 watts rms.  double the power may be a little much there.  hope you dont blow the sub.
Its a 10 so make sure you have a subsonic filter on ESPECIALLY if it's in a ported box or I can pretty much gaurnetee its going to blow.  if its in a small sealed box you should be ok if the subsonic filter is on,  just be carefull not to crank it till it distorts or the sub's going to smoke.
