Question
i have a 1000/1 jl amp and 2 t1 rockford fosgate subs i had them working perfect for about a day and then the low volt light came on when it was turnd up everything seems to be hooked up tight and in working order is it possible that my ground could have gone bad or maby the wire could have gone bad if you could help me with this problem i would be very thankfull. thank you for your time

Answer
Hi Kenny,
I don't think it is a case of wiring "gone bad" they tend to work or not but it could be that the supply lead is to small. 1,000w amp/12 = 83 +50% safety factor would mean a 120amp lead, you probable know this but that lead should be directly to the poss on the battery with a large fuse 2" from the battery terminal in-line. Earth lead needs to be same weight as power lead and bolted to a clean surface as close to the amp as possible. I would recommend a separate battery, preferably a spiral one, with a split charge relay, this would save the car battery getting hammered. If you need to know the how and where just come back with another question, no worries. Peter
