Hi Peter -

I have a 2003 HOnda Accord EX.  The radio console which is a LCD panel just went out.  The radio and all my controls work fine.  I have checked the fuses and none appear to be out.  If a bright light hits the panel you can see it up close.  

What can I do to fix this.  I have taken it to a HOnda dealer and they have said to replace the whole console.  I just feel this is a lot of money just to fix a lamp.

Oh dear, back light has gone and it's a bit more than a just a lamp, not too much to be done usually BUT check the ribbon cable that connects the screen with the head unit, I had a simular problem with my Kenwood mask unit, all that flexing causes a break in the cable or the connections at the end. Also if it IS the backlight try typing "backlight" into Ebay, there are some there that might do the trick.
