Question
ok my man i got a question i bought a kennwood 7252 1000 watt amp and 2  12" kickers cvr12 2 or 4 ohms i hook up every thing like it said in the amp manuel power to the battery power wire to the blue wire on the car stero amp lights up amp connected to the subs everything is good but the subs are not playin they were playing for a min but i was not hearing the full base it was a VERY faint base now i dont know why its not workin everything is brand new the only problem i would think is that in the back of the subs there are 2 red and 2 black connections i was told that this is what they mean by 4 ohms i connected the wires to the 2 main red and black connections cause the other 2 red and black connections are red and black with 1 white dot on each of them so there is no wires connected to them and the box that the subs are in only have one connection check pic to see   http://www.kicker.com/06/kicker_home.html  PLEASE HELP  tell me some of the problems that might be affecting it  thank you

Answer
Hi Johnathan,
I'm not entirely sure from your description what happened.
I am concerned that you just hooked up your speakers without understanding much about "ohms", because it sounds to me like you bridged across two subs and drove them down to 2 Ohms (or very likely less).
Your amp is probably not rated to handle power that low.  By forging ahead, you very likely just blew your new amp.

My suggestion would be to check your amp's fuse - hopefully that tripped before your amp self destructed.

Next, I would ask Mark Lampi to help you hook those speakers correctly to that amp - I am a scientist with expertise in acoustics, and not very familiar with Kicker subs.

I wish you luck!
