Audio Systems: car stereo, pioneer cd player, aa battery

Question
I just bought a new pioneer cd player to replace my aftermarket pioneer tape player that was in when i got my truck and found that the color codeing diagram that came with the stereo wouldnt help me whoever had the truck first tied in short lengths of wire to extend the wireing and used a different color my stereo will get power but the speakers wont work

Answer
well if you've successfully identified the 3 power wires, the remaining wires should all be speakers (at least 8 of them in 4 sets should be)  one easy way to identify these is to take a good, new AA battery and quickly strike it across the sets of remaining wires.  you should hear a click out of each set of speakers when you get it on the right wires. (you touch the negative of the battery to one wire and then posative of the battery to another wire.  by listening to where the clicks come from this will show you what wires go to what speakers.  then you can just hook them up to your stereo.  Make sure you dont put the battery across any power lines though!
Good luck and let me know how it goes please.
