Audio Systems: Horrible Engine Feedback Through Speakers, kicker amp, fosgate power

Question
Thank you very much, what you said makes perfect sense but if I may ask one more relative question. The amp is a 4 channel Kicker and it still allows the door speakers to play just fine, but because the tweeters aren't working at all I am assuming that it is the amp like you said correct? And will getting a new amp to the speakers only fix the problem or do I also need to get one for my subwoofers.
System- Pioneer Deh9800, 2 pairs 6.5 Rf Power components, 2 12' Kicker solo L7, a power series cap, the kicker amp, and a phoenix gold amp for subs. Thank you again. I look forward to your answer

-----Question-----
I heard a rattle in my rear right door. I took off the panel andset it on my backseat. I have two pairs of Rockford fosgate Power serios 6.5 inch component speakers in all 4 doors. I turned on the music to see where the rattle was coming from and the base from the song knocked the door panel causing the tweeter wires to be pulled from the crossover. When this happened there was a horribly loud and rapid bass pounding for a few seconds. I plug everything back and now the louder my amp is for the speakers, the louder the feedback from the engine becomes. It's only a quarter up where as before i had it 3/4 the way up. Also both tweeters on the right side of my car no longer work. I get a little feedback from the subs as well. Any suggestion would help me a lot! Thank you

Bad news. The likelyhood is the power amp has melted down. The filter caps in the power supply are going to need replacing and one or more output transistors in the power amp, probably.

But, you really should take it into a shop where they can look at it and test out the dc voltage conditions.  There may be dc on the speaker outputs caused by a shorted power supply or a shorted down output transistor.  Repairs will be quite expensive.  With car power amps being relatively cheap now days it may be better to just replace.

Wish I had better news.

Answer
If tweeters are not working, are they biamped?  If they are driven by their own amps, then you must check them out.  If not biamped, then the crossover networks could be toast OR the tweeters could have been overpowered when the rumbling took place, etc.  You can check the tweeters easily with a 1.5 v battery.  Disconnect the wires to the tweeter; touch the battery across the tweeter terminals; if you hear a click they are good; if not, the voice coils are open. If you have a VOM you can just check them for resistance.  (Good investment for any car tessting is the $9.83 vom from Walmart hardware department!).
