Hi.  I am installing a Kenwood radio/cd player in 98 chev cav car. Wiring harness came with stereo. Colors on harness do not match wiring colors; can you tell me on car which colors are what so that i can match to the labeled wires on harness for new radio? thanks

I think what you're saying is that there is a wiring harness that came with the stereo and it's made for the stereo but not for the 98 cavaleir right?  If this is the case you should get a wiring harness for the 98 cav:

the wiring colors on this should match up with the kenwood's wiring colors.

no the cav should have a plug already that attached to the factory stereo (unless you or someone else cut it off). In other words where the rectangular hole is that the new radio goes into the car, there should be a big plug there now thats part of the car right? this adapter im recomending will plug onto that and have loose wires hanging that are the same color codes as the wires that are already haging out of the kenwood.  so then you just match up color for color. you can use wire nuts or little crimp splices to conenect each wire (yellow to yellow, black to black, etc).
If the cav's wiring plug has been cut off then you have a different job ahead of you.  I can help with that as well.
