Audio Systems: How to connect a single VW CD player in my factory VW cassette radio?, vw cd player, vw jetta

Question
Thank you for you patiente and time to respond my question.  I did what you suggested (removing male connector 3 from the factory radio and plug the CD player lead instead).  I inserted a CD and the played took it inside however after some seconds, the radio displayed an error message and ejected the CD.  I am suspecting the the two pin connector is needed to complete the process.  However I did not find a two pin female conector inside the dash.  Now I need to figure out what is wrong.  If you got more details or tricks please write me again.  Once again, thanks a lot.

-----Question-----
I own a VW JETTA IV (1999) that keeps the original radio from factory (am/fm/cassette). A friend gave me away a single CD player device that fits in the same dash (in fact it has the same shape of the radio body to fit it below the radio). The CD player has the ref. no. CX-DV1820LA and also it has the part number 1J0057119C. It has an 8 inch cable with a 8 pin blue male connector at the end (plus some dummy connectors -green and yellow). Additional the player has a female 8 pin connector in the body (the blue male cable connector fits in the same female body connector). The body has also a female 2 pin connector in the body. However when I remove the radio, I don't see where to make the connections.

Check the following pictures to have a better idea of what I talking about and my questions.

THANKS so much for taking pictures!  that's a big help!  I think I have one of these at home so I'll try to look when I get there, but from what I can remember the picture you called "factory VW radio" where you show connetions 1 2 and 3.  connection 1 is power, 2 is the speakers and 3 is for other devices.  It looks like the wires that are on the speaker connector arent even trimed on the ends so it looks like they arent in use at all.  I think the connector you have labeld as #3 on the tape/radio goes to a factory amplifier in the car (monsoon system),  this should unplug and get pluged into the cd player's 8 pin connector.  then that whole blue/green/yellow plug goes into the #3 plug on the tape/radio unit.  the plug on the cd player that has 2 wires is for power so hopefully there's one of those hanging inside the dash, if not we'll have to see what to do about that.  again, I have one of these at home so let me see what it looks like and I'll write a followup.

Answer
All I could find was the cd player piece that I have, I couldnt find the other 1/2.  I forget if I even had a tape player.  Its interesting that the cd player worked at all without that 2 prong wire since I was guessing that that was power.  it should've done nothing without power so I'm thinking there's something else we're missing.  I dont think you need that 2 pin plug if the unit got power.  it's not asking for a code or anything now is it?
let me keep looking for the rest of what I have, I'll post a followup if I find it.
