Audio Systems: cd player cutting out, pioneer cd player, cotton buds

We have a Pioneer cd player in our truck - it worked fine for awhile but now the cd player cuts out or won't work at all - it acts like it can't read the disc - the radio works fine.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

CD players get a rouh time, a trucks dash is a fairly rough location. check for dirty lazer head, try cleaning with a lens cleaning disc, it maybe just ubable to read track zero (index), failing that whip out the unit and pop off the lid and have a look to see if it is a bit grotty in there, BLOW it clean, never poke or use cotton buds etc as you could misalign  the cd head and then you are stuffed. Mind you, you will be no worse off than now will you?
