Audio Systems: Wanting to upgrade my Bandpass, ohm voice coils, rms power

Question
Hey, thanks for the help Jerry.  I already own the Adrenalin Bandpass box.  The sub bumps pretty good for only $100.00!  Thing is i want a little more.  I'm hoping if I swap the current subs in this bandpass box with the Boss subs if it'll make a difference.  Alo wondering if the cubic feet within the bandpass box are good enough for these Boss BL128 subs.  Thanks again.

-----Question-----
Specs:

Boss CH700 1200 watt amp:
1200watt Max (600watts x 2)
200watt RMS x 2

Adrenalin ADRBP12:
Two Woofers with Aluminum Coated Baskets ·Black, Carpeted, Band Pass Speakers ·50 Oz. Magnet ·4 Chrome Plated Ports ·15"H x 30" W x 15" D

Wanting to replace current subs in box with two Boss BL128 subs.
BL128:
MAX 700watts
RMS 350watts

My question is if I connect those BL128's to my amp bridged in parallel will my amp be able to push'em?
My theory is bridged and in parallel the amp puts 1200watts MAX to both subs and 400watts RMS to both subs.  Am I right or should i just go with the BL108 subs which are basically the same only they are 600watt MAX and 300watt RMS?
-----Answer-----
The bottom line when choosing gear (power-wise) are the RMS power ratings and the impedance/sensitivity of the speakers used.
So, in short, the answer is yes.
AMP:
Max power 600W x 2, 2 ohms (only in stereo mode)
RMS power 200W x 2, 4 ohms
Bridged power, 4 ohm 400W x 1

Adrenalin Speakers:
I can find no specific information on them (this is not a good sign).

Boss speakers:
92 db/1 watt
Dual 4 ohm voice coils

For instance, if the Adrenalines have a sensitivity rating of only 87 Db each (not uncommon in less expensive speaker arrays), the Boss's will walk all over them with the same amount of power put to them due to the sensitivity rating alone.

Since I cannot find any specific information at all for the Adrenalines, I would get the Boss's.

But as to your theory, No.  The amp will only deliver 400 RMS (bridged), so each of the two speakers would get 200 watts.
We have no idea if they ARE basically the same, as to sensitivity. Unless you have details in the manual stating otherwise, they very likely are NOT the same.

*Wire each coil of the Boss's in parallel for a 2 Ohm load per speaker, then wire the speakers together in series,  adding the 2+2 for a 4 Ohm mono load on the amp.

I hope this clears this matter up for you.
Good luck and thanks for the detailed question.

Sincerely,
Jerry Mael

Answer
That is what I was saying:
From all indicators I can find, it will be a good upgrade.
I cannot find much info as to loading the boss subs..period
(much less into a bandpass), so how well they align will be a guess at best.
At the Boss site, the best info I can locate only says:
"Optimized for SMALL SEALED ENCLOSURES"
Determining proper loading parameters is an all-too-common problem when dealing with lower priced gear from these companies.
There are ways of extracting the Thiel-Small parameters from a given woofer through physical testing, but it would very likely require more time than the end result would be worth.
Even companies like Pyramid will give you the correct parameters so it is pretty frustrating when someone equally as 'well known' (like Boss) does not.

Since there IS a small sealed enclosure in between the subs, these Boss's should work for you.

Of course, for the best performance, you would really need a custom designed enclosure for a better pair of speakers. Generic boxes will generally give generic performance. The same can be said of most lower priced woofers. Fortunately, lower end amps seem to be the best bargain these days (over speakers) due to derivitive reverse engineering by these companies.

I wish I could give you the magic answer for this, but in my professional opinion, upgrading to the Boss's will help your cause based (solely) on their sensitivity ratings.

If you really want to (signifigantly) move up, then I would suggest the custom enclosure and a pair of Aplines, Kickers, JL audio's or the likes.
