Audio Systems: Add an extra amplifier input/output, amplifier input, tape input

Question
Hi Mark - I have an older stereo receiver/amp with a CD, phono, tape deck and VCR all connected.  I have no more available inputs/outputs.  I want to connect my PC to allow internet radio over my home stereo, as well as recording my LP's onto CD's using my computer. I want to add an additional set of stereo input and output jacks for this.  I've been surfing the web and see lots of products to allow either an input (play internet radio over the stereo) OR an output (record vinyl digitally using my PC) but not both.  Do you have some recommendations?  Thanks,

John B.

Answer
sure, the output is easy, just find any output on the reicever and put Y adapters on it to send it to where it's currently going and also to your line in on the sound card of the PC.

To get an extra input you pretty much need to get a separate switch box so say, your tape input on the reciever has a tape deck on it, you put the switch box on the tape input to the reciever and you make option A on the switchbox the tape and option B on the box your PC.
you can get these at radioshack and walmart, in fact I think walmart may have one that automatically switches when it senses input and gives you connections for 4 or so devices.

good luck and let me know how it goes please!
