Audio Systems: instalation, stock stereo, instrument cluster

i just bought a 2006 1500 ram. i bought a instalation kit also but i have'nt figure how to pull out the stock stereo with out breaking the faceplate. how do you or what is required to take the stock stereo out. do i need a special tool or what. thanks

I did an install on a 3500 and there was a trim piece that went around the stereo, the instrument cluster and hvac controlls and I believe some of the vents as well, this just poped right out when pulled on it carefully.  the radio is just screwed in by 2 big screws once you get that trim piece off.
If yours looks different than that let me know but I think i'ts the same.
