Audio Systems: 2004 Dodge Intrepid speakers, lr brown, dodge chrysler

Question
I have a 2004 Dodge Intrepid and just recently the speakers (both front and back) on the drivers side stopped working. Do you know what the problem could be?

Answer
The balance control used to fail often on Dodge stereos.
You could pop the radio out, and use a battery to test if the speakers still work. you need to solder a lead to each end of a AA battery. Once you touch the leads to a pair of speaker wires, the speaker should crackle.  You may be able to access these wires inside the trunk to test the rear speaker, if you don't want to pull the radio. If the speakers are OK, time to replace the head unit.
Here's the wire diagram;
