Audio Systems: powering car amp in dorm room, computer power supply, 4 ohms

Question
i have a kicker kx600.1 amp with 2 alpine type 10's 2 ohm setup and i want to be able to run them off my computer in my dorm room. what would be the best power source to use?

Answer
about a 300 watt amp is all you can run with a computer power supply.  anything more than that and you'll be spending more for the power supply than you would to buy a home theater type amp you could simply plug in.
You're amp is rated for 600 rms at 2 ohms, if run it at 4 ohms you have a shot at running it with a pc power supply. maybe remove one of the alpines? or only turn it up 1/2 way to draw only 300 watts?
at least it's a class D amp so you're efficiency will help alot.
a power supply like this:

along with a capacitor might run it quite nicely but if you crank it all the way the power supply is going to shut off.
If you want to try it, let me know I'll tell you how to hook it up.
